RVSC u16's go from strengthh to strength and now consist of two teams, Red team and White team.
The u16s have increased so much that GB Soccer director Graham Brown has developed a 2nd team which Oscar Galvis is not the head coach of. Both teams have had a great start to 2009/2010 with excellent showings in Pennsilviania, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York already. .. reports to follow.
RVSC WIN USA CUP IN MINNESOTA
Ramapo Valley u15 boys had a great trip to Minnesota, beating the Canadains PSA SC in the final of the international USA Cup in July. Along the way the fully focused Tornados beat Brazilian team Rio De Janeiro, and 3 US based teams in the group stages. They followed this up with a fantastic injury time winner in the Quarter final against top side Cruz Azure, then won a hard fought contest against the North African side to advance to the final.

The Ramapo Valley u16s in the newest team to come directly under the wings of GB and Graham's first appointment was to bring in assistant coach / trainer Peter O'Malley from Memphis, Tennessee.
Peter is a fine up and coming coach, he knows the game well comes from a great pedigree of top trainers and coaches. Pete has played at club level on tour abroad in Europe and is a top college player. He is a versatile player mostly playing in the Central midfield but competes brilliantly in other positions. Coach browns : " I feel it is important that young players see what a college player looks like and can see at first hand how he competes and plays and how he presents himself off the field as well as on it"
The Ramapo team will be playing in the Mid Atlantic Premier league (Maps) and indeed have already played their first game , a 3-0 win back in early December 2008. The boys head to North Carolina in Feb 2009, to compete in their first outdoor tournament, The Matthews Invitational. This is a top class tournament run by NCAA, Wingate University, men's soccer Head Coach and ex Irish player /coach, Gary Hamill. Gary's old High school team in Belfast Northern Ireland played against Coach Browns old High School team so a lot for the two men to catch up on.
The Ramapo team is made up with players from Eastern New York and Northern New Jersey and from High schools such Don Bosco, Ramsey, Suffern, Monroe Woodbury, Warwick, all top contenders each year in their regional conference leagues.

Coach brown on the team: " I feel this is a good group of lads and I am looking forward to watching them develop. They have a nice balance and work very hard in training. Educationally they are also quite smart so that gives them a good foundation to build on"
The newest team to join the GB Soccer College Development program, The Rvsc u15's boys team, travelled to North Carolina on presidents weekend and had a great first outing. The boys playing together for the first time made it all the way to the final only to lose in sudden death penalty shoot out after a pulsating tied game.
