GB's Rvsc u16s play well in Foyle Cup, 2010, Ireland.

The u16s had a great time in Ireland in July 2010, performing beyond all expectations in the presitgious Foyle cup. Wining their first two group games V Innisowen 2-1 and Ballymoney, 3-1 respectively. The boys headed into a rain and wind swept decider v the very phycially stong Dunganon Swifts, but despite out playing Dungannon the boys lost to a free kick that collect pace off the fierce wind and saied past the stranded Ryan Rothel to break the Ramapo Hearts.

The boys recovered in the Quarter final off the Plate to beat Belfasts Shankill young men by a massive 5-0, the first goals that the shakill outfit had conceeded the whole tournament. Next up was the semi final and with just 15 minutes left the Boys from the USA were 2-1 up after a stunning goal by Mike Wagner, but the same player was vthen very harshly sent off for alledgely diving, a bad call which would eventually lead to a 3-2 defeat in the 7th minute off injury time. Yes 7th minute.

All in all though it was a great trip and well worth the effort.

Foyle cup 2010, Draw puts local boys in with Inishowen FC ( the Western Irish League select squad), Dungannon Utd, Northern Ireland Premier leagues youth team and Ballymoney Select ( players selected from the Region). Also in the section are Queens Park Rangers, (English league) Hull City, ( English Premier league team in 2009), Fernacous, ( Hungary), Spanish Academy side from Barcelona, ANB Academy from Canada to name but a few. 32 of the top sides from around the world competing for the prestigious Foyle Cup.

RVSC U18 SPADARO BOYS HEAD TO COLLEGE ON BACK OFF GREAT 2010 STATE CUP RUN TO THE FINAL.

The boys played a magnificent game going into extra time at 2-2 after the final whistle. The 1st period of OT saw RVSC miss 2 great chances which should have given the boys a deserved NY State cup championship. As it turned out with just 4 mins left Rvsc's Cody got the ball in the six yard box, turned to shoot and was upended, unfortunatley the Ref missed it and allowed play to continue and as the ball was cleared up field the Riders forward collected and clearlt outside the box took a fall and rolled inside the 18 yard from where the ref, still recovering to keep up with play, called an incredible penalty. And that was the end of that, they scored and held off a huge last 3 minute effort. Such a shame a great game of soccer had to end in such a way but what a billiant performance frm the RVSC 18s who all not head to play college and we are sure will have many great moments ahead of them. Well done to the whole squad RVSC GB and Pete are very proud of you and wish you well in your college teams.

Rvsc u16s win semi final game in NY State cup 2010

On a beautiful Wednesday night, cool, no wind and huge crowd, RVSC u18s made their way into the NY State Cup, 9 June 6th 9am at Stringham Pk, NY). Ramapo Valley with a few injuries going into the game against a very strong Eastern FC from Rye, NY, stated the game on fire. Rob Stevens, Kevin Beckley, John Spadaro all went close in the first 35 minutes, but it was the fire power of Cody Farrier who did the damage , latching onto great passes by Andrew Tumminello to score in the 17th minute and 33rd minute.

In the 2nd half, Eastern threw caution to the wind and sent 3 players forward, giving Cameron Engles and Beckley chances to break and take the game beyond Estern but some great saves by the Eastern keeper kept the score at 2-0 untill the 86th minute when Eastern got onto the ned of a cross to head home and make it 2-1 and a very tense finish to the game. Rvsc hung on, marshalled at the back by Matt Rough and Zac Croce. A great game and history for RVSC as the first team in the clubs life span to have a team represented in the Stae Cup Finals. Good luck to all.

U17s in Naples , Kelme cup 2009.

GB gives the orders to the team at NaplesRamapo Valley, u17s just returned from a very successful Kelme cup in Florida. With Tempatures reaching the 80's Ramapo Valley lads took to the field for game one against the NJ Boco Jrs. Ramapo dominated the game out shooting the NJ team 23 to 5. But a slip up in the Ramapo defence saw the NJ boys grab a goal with just 10 minutes remaining and it proved to be the winner. RVSC U17 SPADARO

Game two, saw the Rampo Boys come out to make amends and what a peformance they put in. Playing the talented Miami Lakers SC Ramapo launched attack after attack with some excellent fast moving play. Steven Zacharczyk opened the scoring with a blistering strike on goal, followed up by an impressive corne set piece that saw Robert Stevens taping in at the front post. Zacharczyk got his 2nd in the second half with another fine finish after great work from Puccio and Spadaro in the middle. 3-0 the final score. RVSC U17 SPADARO

Ramapo finished off the tournament on Sunday with another excellent display against the Westeron, SC, Fl, home team. Ramapo had a sluggish opening 10 minutes when Ian Huxel was called into action too often for coach Browns liking, indeed the mandatory water break after 15 minutes was just what the Ramapo boys needed. I few strong words from Coach Brown though put the team back on track and within 2 minutes of the restart Ramapo were 1-0 up through a fine team worked goal ending in Powel scoring and after that the RVSC boys never looked back. Steven Zacharczyk got his 3rd goal of the tournament rounding the keeper to tuck away the 2nd goal of the game.  RVSC U17 SPADARO

SUMMER CAMPS 2008, came to an end but what a great summer it has was. GB Soccer trainers and coaches were hard at work providing an excellent summer of fun and development. Irish coaches Derek "Sharpie" Sharp and Gary "Thompo" Thompson were in outstanding coaching form and made a huge impact into the lives of the young soccer players they were teaching. Oscar Galvis, John Lumsden and Andres Gomez added their usual flare and style to the excellent summer programs in the Tri State area.  GB Soccer Clinics 2009

Goals from Pete Weber and two from Steve Zacharczyk was enough to capture a number of top colleges coaches interest.Later that evening under the complex flood lights, the Ramapo Boys again came from behind to capture a 2-2 draw but only for the wood work and some excellent goal keeping by the Lynbrook, NY goal keeper it could have and indeed should have been another 3-2 win. The RVSC players however looked excellent on the ball and showed a desire to win that had the watching colleges coaches excited and eager to catch names and details of the juniors and seniors on display. New RVSC players Robert Stevens and Jordan Demshick scored the goals which brought about the game resulting draw. RVSC U17 SPADARO

Local keeper watched by EPL team in Ireland Cup, 2007.

Andrew Tartara a goal keeper in the U16 Ramapo Valley soccer club, NY, team has returned home from Ireland where he was playing for his club in a huge international soccer tournament. During the games the staff with the team was approached by a chief player scout from Sunderland FC. The scout has taken all his details and has asked for the team officials for a regular update on Andrew's progress and thoughts about possible visiting the club for a look around. Sunderland under the guidance of ex Man Utd star, Roy Keane, have started their 2007/8 season with a win against Tottenham Hotspur. Andrew is a Albertus Magnus Student going into his senior year.
